A few days ago I started a new weight loss journey and am using this blog to keep my journal as well as keep me on track and honest. So far it’s working great! Thank you again to everyone who has shown their support. I am still overwhelmed and humbled. You can follow my story and read the previous posts here: My Journey to a Healthier Me
Yesterday was day number three and I can confidently say it was another success!
I started the morning with my yoga routine as usual and about a quarter of the way through my little girl happened to wake up and walked in on me. So, of course, I asked if she’d like to join. She could not have been happier. I have to say it was a great additional motivation even though she often put me to shame as her little body was way more limber, lol!
I’m starting to find it a tiny bit easier to get into some of the positions properly, but still struggle quite a bit depending on what’s needed. My little girl walking in interrupted a bit, but I really can’t complain. She was all too happy to join in and it was so enjoyable watching her attempt everything. We started with her on the same mat, but that proved to be very difficult very quickly. Luckily, I had a spare and she was very excited and kept with me the entire time.
Later that evening, she expressed interest in doing it again. Here’s how the conversation went:
Me: Did you want to exercise with Mommy again tomorrow?
Her: Yes
Me: Well then, you’ll have to wake up really early. If you wake up early enough while Mommy is exercising, you can join me.
Her: I’m going to sleep now!
At that point, my husband and I just fell into hysterics. Talk about motivation…. She didn’t quite go to sleep early, but she did indeed get out of bed at 6 this morning and immediately ran out and asked to do yoga with Mommy. I think I may have a permanent partner here.
Meanwhile, I successfully stayed on my diet. I ended up drinking two shakes at once (I know that’s not the best idea) as i got quite backlogged yesterday with some other personal stuff going on and ran out of time. That’s the next thing I need to work on – making sure I stop to eat on schedule (I did it again today). My husband/personal chef (I know, I’m spoiled) has been so amazingly supportive and made a very yummy dinner with some ground turkey kabobs, turkey hot dogs and steamed veggies.
The weekend will be hard, but I think I’m up for it. Even though I’m home all the time now, the weekend still feels different as the routine changes and I’ve struggled in the past to keep things up. Wish me luck! I hope to update you all again after the weekend.
