Journey to a Healthier Me – Day 2 – I’m Grateful and Humbled

Two days ago I started a new weight loss journey and decided to use this blog to keep a journal and keep me on track as well as honest. You can check out my first post about my story here: Journey to a Healthier Me – Day 1.

So at least I didn’t break after just one day right? One day at a time….

Yesterday, I put up my first post and promoted it via both my ShopDay page (follow me on Facebook to stay updated!) as well as my personal Facebook page and a weight loss group I’m in. I have to say, I am so overwhelmed as I was flooded not only with comments on the posts, but private texts and PM’s from friends and colleagues who came out of the woodwork to cheer me on. I have to say I am extremely grateful to so many who are supporting me and showed their love yesterday. Not only that, but I received numerous notes that I am inspiring others to continue working hard on their own struggles as well. I am very humbled by all the responses and hope I can continue to share this journey and hopefully inspire as well. I’m primarily doing this for myself and my family, but if my personal journey and public exposure is helping others, all the better! I am so very thankful to those sharing these sentiments with me as it has and will continue to help keep me motivated. It’s hard to respond and truly thank each individual, but I hope you all know that each and every one of you is very much appreciated. I tried to at least send some “love” back to every comment, because each one truly means so much to me.

As for the dieting, so far so good thanks to may amazing husband/personal chef ;). I didn’t cheat at all yesterday, so that one can go down as a success!

I continued attempting the yoga. Here’s another short video clip from yesterday.

Of course, I still can’t get anywhere near to touching the floor for a fold. In addition, I’m having great difficulty transitioning from one position to another. I was also quite sore from the day before and had to take a few breaks and couldn’t keep moving throughout the practice. I’m still pushing through, so I’m very optimistic that this will continue to improve as I keep going.

I also learned that my hands and feet get sweaty and slip on my mat way too much! I remember having this problem in the past, but with my excessive current weight, it’s really causing problems for me holding positions like downward dog. After poking around a little bit, I found that a lot of people use towels over their mat or purchase more premium slip-resistant mats. I kinda have my eye on this one, because…..purple. I’ll keep you posted if I buy it and how it works out.

Here’s the latest video compilation of my progress. For now, I’m including each day I have recorded, but as I go along, I’m sure I’ll start deleting some as that would be a veeeeeeery long video.

Thank you all again so much for following along this journey with me. May you all find the strength and will power to face your own struggles with much success.
